Through The Lens Thursday is a one-year photography project (now in its second year), where every week, my project partner, Greta of GFunkified and I, will post a picture (or pictures) we have taken based on a prompt. Our hope is that together, we can teach and learn from each other, stay accountable to our goal of improving our skills, and hopefully, be taking some gorgeous photographs.
This week’s prompt is Music.
What I’m reading:
Frog Music by Emma Donoghue.
What I wrote:
I haven’t written much about the twins’ NICU experience, mostly because it’s past us, but partly because it was hard, and there are a lot of feelings about it. But I took the plunge and wrote this post, What Really Matters on The Huffington Post.
I also had my post about 10 motherhood truths syndicated at Scary Mommy.
What I’m thinking about:
Quite a lot, mostly about my blog and writing. My hosting package is up for renewal next month, and I briefly considered not renewing it.
Yes, I thought about quitting this blog. It’s not the first time, and it probably won’t be the last. Blogging has changed a lot in the last two years or so, and I’m not sure I fit in any blogging community anymore. Bloggers seem to want to get off their blogs, not write in it. I suppose I’m not that different, am I? I just shared two posts I wrote outside of this blog. But I like it here. I like my space. I like that I can still do Through The Lens Thursday, even if no one really reads it anyway. I like that I have a portfolio of writing I can look back on.
So I am renewing my hosting. For now.
Next week’s prompt is Round.
For the full list of prompts, check out my Through The Lens Thursday page. If you’d like to join Greta and I, but not necessarily blog your picture, join our Flickr group, where we upload our photos, and give comments, or helpful critique on each other’s photographs.
