Through The Lens Thursday: Cute

Through The Lens Thursday is a one-year photography project (now in its second year), where every week, my project partner, Greta of GFunkified and I, will post a picture (or pictures) we have taken based on a prompt. Our hope is that together, we can teach and learn from each other, stay accountable to our goal of improving our skills, and hopefully, be taking some gorgeous photographs.

A photography project

 This week’s prompt is Cute.

TTLT - Cute 1

Her eyes light up, her legs kick furiously, and she waves her arms excitedly. Every single morning, when she wakes up and sees me.

He usually follows suit, hearing her little squeaks (God, I love her voice), eyes slowly opening, and his arms shooting up into a long, lazy stretch, lips pursed up.

I can’t think of a better way to begin a day.

The twins turn six months on March 14.

They roll onto their bellies at every opportunity, and I ready myself for the inevitable days when I can’t take my eyes off them, because one or both will be getting into allthethings, scooting off into hiding, and just GROWING UP.

TTLT - Cute 2

My daughter is one of the most chilled out people on this planet, and I am not exaggerating. Nothing fazes her except loud sneezes. She sits quietly in her rocker, watching me, watching the world around her, smiling every time anyone so much as glances at her, and loves when her big brothers talk to her.

I may be enjoying dressing her up a little too much.

My youngest son is chunky and chubby and smiles so big, his eyes disappear into these crinkles on his face. He’s a self-soother, which makes my life a lot easier because two babies, people. He’s gained a reputation as a bit of a grump, because he only smiles at a couple of people (and one of them is me), so everyone is constantly trying to impress him, to elicit a smile. I think he’s got everyone wound around his little fat fingers.

This is going to sound cheesy, but I’ll tell you anyway.

Many times in a day, I look at my youngest two children, and I think, how lucky am I? SO very lucky. Babies are fun and gorgeous and time-consuming and sleep-sucking and joyous, and I have TWO.

Next week’s prompt is Red.

For the full list of prompts, check out my Through The Lens Thursday page. If you’d like to join Greta and I, but not necessarily blog your picture, join our Flickr group, where we upload our photos, and give comments, or helpful critique on each other’s photographs.

What great expressions they have on their oh so cute faces. My son is nine months and when he wakes in the morning, he also kicks his legs waves his arms and smiles while trying to pull my hair to ensure I am awake. They grow so fast but I love every minute and second.

Co-signing Kerstin — my girls were way more chill than the boy. He wasn’t high maintenance either, just different. I could stare at those faces all day and it’s so wonderful to see their personalities develop.
