Through The Lens Thursday is a one-year photography project, where every week, my project partner, Greta of GFunkified and I, will post a picture (or pictures) we have taken based on a prompt. Our hope is that together, we can teach and learn from each other, stay accountable to our goal of improving our skills, and hopefully, be taking some gorgeous photographs.
This week’s prompt is ‘Pair’.
When Greta and I set out to do this photography challenge and were setting prompts, I was not pregnant. I was months away from finding that out, and far from birthing twins.
Pair as a prompt is a gift. Because this prompt is the easiest.
The twins are nearly three months old! Can you believe it?
They both love to be held and cuddled. One likes it a little more than the other.
One sleeps with her hands above her head. The other with his hands straight down his sides.
If one cries, the other does too. Before they were born, I remember thinking, if one wakes up, the other will soothe him or her back to sleep.
It’s the OPPOSITE.
Just like they are. They are totally different. Not just because of the boy/ girl difference. He is clingier. She’s more chilled out. He’s frowny. She’s smilier. He’s a cuddler. She’s not (not yet, anyway). She has spiky hair. He has no hair.
They are both growing and thriving. They both love their big brothers, and are loved right back. They are both my favorite, despite my husband’s assertion that I have one favorite (I promise, I don’t!).
Some days, I look at this pair and can’t believe they’re mine.
Next week’s prompt is ‘Loud’.
For the full list of prompts, check out my Through The Lens Thursday page. If you’d like to join Greta and I, but not necessarily blog your picture, join our Flickr group, where we upload our photos, and give comments, or helpful critique on each other’s photographs.
