What I Liked from NaBloPoMo #1

In the spirit of NaBloPoMo, I will be sharing my favorite posts from the list of posts linked up at BlogHer. I have been randomly clicking on at least 5 to 10 posts a day to read, and have discovered some really great writing and awesome blogs. Yay, NaBloPoMo! I hope you find the time to click through to some, and show them some love.

Ever swore in front of your kids and have them repeat it to you? Then you’ll enjoy this funny post by Motherhood (And All The Rest), Every F**king Time, Mummy

Bipolar disorder. Suicide. Darkness. Light. Addye at Butterfly Confessions writes beautifully about the stark and frightening reality of this mental illness and what it does to one’s mind, heart, life. Go read Dancing In The Light During The Seasons When Darkness Abounds.

I have an eyebrow problem. As in, they are unruly and since I stopped going for facials years ago (my facialist trimmed my eyebrows for me, bless her), I’ve been trying to groom them myself. Let’s say I should probably leave them alone. Like Jean at Unpickled. Her post Powerless Over My Eyebrows made me laugh and cringe.

Grief. There is no timeline for grieving. Andrea lost her father a year ago. She writes so poignantly of her loss in One Year Gone By. It Still Hurts.

As a stay-at-home mother, I can relate to Adventures Of A Jayhawk Mommy’s post, 15 Signs You Just Might Need A Day Off. #5, I do #5 occasionally. Shh, don’t tell my husband.

Any weekend plans?

She is one of 35 essayists in the anthology, My Other Ex: Women’s True Stories of Leaving and Losing Friends. In 2012, she founded Little Love Media, a social media consultancy specializing in blog book tours, and because she doesn’t sleep, is an editor at BonBon Break, an online magazine. Glad you’re sharing links, Alison! I don’t have the energy for Nano this year (I feel insane saying that to YOU with two new babies) BUT I’m still glad it’s happening and that I can see new voices.
