Through The Lens Thursday is a one-year photography project, where every week, my project partner, Greta of GFunkified and I, will post a picture (or pictures) we have taken based on a prompt. Our hope is that together, we can teach and learn from each other, stay accountable to our goal of improving our skills, and hopefully, be taking some gorgeous photographs.
This week’s prompt is ‘Stairs’.
I cheated. I didn’t take this picture this week. It was a picture taken in February, when we were in Normandy, France. This is one of many stairs leading up to the abbey at Mont St. Michel, a trek I took solo while my husband took care of the kids.
Parenting solo, I just haven’t had the energy or time to go out and look for some inspiring stairs (is there such a thing?). I’m actually scrambling to write and post this because I have to go pick the boys up from preschool soon.
But look! More stairs.
I miss France. I miss my husband. I miss my strong legs and body that made its way up so many steps in France (and many streets, shops and trails).
I miss whipping out the camera and snapping away.
I am missing BlogHer 2014 that’s happening right now in San Jose, California too. I really thought that I would make it out to a conference in the US this year (that was before we’d decided to have more kids – hah, Universe is laughing at me right now). Maybe 2016? Want to make a date with me? Will I even be blogging then?
So many questions. So little time. Rambling. Gotta run.
(What do you think of these ‘stairs’ photos? This is a photography exercise, so any critique is appreciated and welcomed!)
Next week’s prompt: Looking Up
For the full list of prompts, check out my Through The Lens Thursday page. If you’d like to join Greta and I, but not necessarily blog your picture, join our Flickr group, where we upload our photos, and give comments, or helpful critique on each other’s photographs.
