Through The Lens Thursday #16: Together

Through The Lens Thursday is a one-year photography project, where every week, my project partner, Greta of GFunkified and I, will post a picture (or pictures) we have taken based on a prompt. Our hope is that together, we can teach and learn from each other, stay accountable to our goal of improving our skills, and hopefully, be taking some gorgeous photographs.

A photography project

This week’s prompt is “Together”.

Toddler and ball

1/15, f/6.3, ISO 3200

He has a few loves: his brother, father, me. Cars, buses, trucks, bikes, and balls.

We have a hundred or so plastic balls that I’ve had to stash away. There are at least a few basketballs in different sizes lying around. Beach balls, a football, there’s even a water polo ball somewhere.

There are only so many places one can hide these darn things.

He found this one underneath the entertainment centre, and refused to let go, even for nap time.

A boy and his ball, together. Sigh.

(What do you think of my ‘together’ photo? This IS a photography exercise, so I would appreciate any critique!)

Next week’s prompt: Water

For the full list of prompts, check out my Through The Lens Thursday page. If you’d like to join Greta and I, but not necessarily blog your picture, join our Flickr group, where we upload our photos, and give comments, or helpful critique on each other’s photographs.

I have a post today at Everyday Family about how to prepare kids for new twin siblings! Please do check it out. Thank you.

Love it! Everything about it. There’s definitely something about a boy and balls of all kinds – they are drawn to them from birth. One of my sons is a hoarder of toys, balls, animals – you name it. He goes to sleep surrounded with all his favorite things of the moment.
    Great shot!

It’s incredibly sweet. He has Des’ eyelashes! They go on for miles.
Des really does love balls, but lately it’s trucks and cars. And it’s funny because he has full access to all sorts of toys – stuffed animals, dolls, wooden, organic somethings or another, and typical “boy toys.”
He likes trucks and cars. It’s biology, baby!

    • April 23, 2014 Alison

Same with my boys. They have all manner of toys but the little one loves his vehicles and those darn balls.

I have a ball lover too. He will choose a ball over most any other toy. And we have about 100 of the same little plastic balls too. They are impossible to keep tidy!
