Old School Blogging: Yellow Is My Favorite Color, And I Don’t Wear Shoes At Home

posted in: Old School Blogging, Random 72 comments

I do love Old School Blogging (hosted by Elaine and co-hosted by Brittany this month). Elaine dug this up from 2008. Wouldn’t it be fun to do this again in 5 years, and see how much the answers have changed? Note to self: do this meme in 2018. If I’m still blogging at 42.

Where is your cell phone? Right next to me.

Your significant other?  He’s known simply as the husband on this blog. He says pretty funny things.

Your hair? It’s looking dreadful. I need a hair cut.

Your mother? Let’s just say, I’m not like her.

Your father? He says wise things like, “It’s better to try then fail, than fail to try.”

Your favorite thing? My Kitchen-Aid mixer.

Your dream last night? Pretty sure it involved my kids.

Your favorite drink? Coffee.

Your dream/ goal? To go to the US someday soon to visit all my favorite bloggy friends.

The room you are in? Living room.

Your fear? Losing my children.

Where do you want to be in six years? Australia. We plan to move there in the next couple of years.

Where were you last night?  Where I always am – home.

What are you not? A hypocrite.

Muffins? Are you kidding? I’m mad for them.

One of your wish list items? I have everything I need!

Where you grew up? Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia.

The last thing you did? Put the boys down for a nap.

What are you wearing? A black asymmetrical shirt and black Nike pants.

Your TV? Couldn’t live without it. Ahem.

Your pets? None. Maybe someday when we live in a house with a backyard.

Your computer? A Macbook Air, that I nearly ruined one time.

Your life? Is as it should be.

Your mood? Pretty good. I think my body has finally adapted to the clean eating plan I embarked on 4 days ago. I feel lighter, and more energetic.

Missing someone? Someone I used to call friend.

Your Car? A black Chevrolet Optra.

Something you are not wearing? Socks and shoes.

Favorite store? Any book store.

Your summer? I live in Malaysia, and we have year-round tropical weather. No summer for me!

Like someone? Yes, you, blog reader!

Your favorite color? Yellow.

Last time you laughed? Earlier today with my kids.

Last time you cried? A few days ago when I watched this video.

What is one thing on your To-Do list? I have to finish writing an article for Everyday Family.

I’m tagging all of you! Link up with Elaine and Brittany now, and tweet them at @elainea and @brittanyvandy with #OSBLog!

Ok, this is adorable. I had to go to the Post Office yesterday to mail a letter to Santa for Scarlet. In it, she asked for a Kitchen-Aid mixer. In pink. Poor Santa!

When I am home I never have socks or shoes on either, even in the winter if I’m inside I’m barefoot.

if you miss someone and know where they are, better to find them, I think.

come to the states, have a cupcake with me.

A kitchen aid mixer is at the top of my wish list. I hope to get one for Christmas and then I can start baking some of those amazing muffins you keep posting about ; )

Muffins don’t need a mixer, they actually taste better when you hand mix them, so get started! πŸ™‚
The mixer though, has changed my life. I can finally make bread the easy way, the hand kneading was killing me.

I finished the 5 days! It’s called the SASS Yourself Slim plan, and I’m doing the 5 Day Fast Forward plan, which is part of the SYS plan. Following that, I have 25 days of much the same plan, except with an expanded ingredient and recipe list. Plus, exercise. It was hard, but so worth it! I’ve managed to identify my snacking and craving triggers, and I’ve finally developed the habit of drinking the recommended amount of water.

I love finding out how much we moms have in common across the globe. I think it’s great that you are right where you want to be in life, because it can be easy to loose that focus in the day to day rat race. These are some things we share: love of coffee, having an awesome dad, and owning a Kitchen Aid mixer. Mine’s covered with dust in my pantry…I wish you could teach me how to use it. πŸ™‚
