Rockin’ A Love Story Of A Bump

Rockin' the bump

Once upon a time, I fell in love.

Deep, deep love.

It was the second time that I felt love like this.

Even when I could barely see my toes.

21 weeks pregnant belly
Like every love story, this one began with great yearning, and anticipation. And like every love story, there were bumps along the road (pun intended). First-trimester nausea, fatigue, endless bouts of coughs and colds, pain in places one didn’t think pain could reach.

But those were just tiny blips. It didn’t affect the love. That only grew and grew, along with my bump.

Pregnant belly photos

I wondered, you know. Whether I could do the two-children-thing. If I could possibly love you as much as I do your brother.

Silly Mama.

Of course I can. And I do.

Mother with newborn

Technically, I’m rockin’ the newborn here!

Do you have any bump photos to show off? Link up with Shell now!

I did not take that many bump pictures like you . I had a condition that pregnant women get called cholestasis. I won’t get into the details but it gets worse with each pregnancy. Regardless of the side effects I loved being pregnant and still struggle with wanting more as approach my 41st birthday soon. Your baby bumps are beautiful !

Love the beautiful bump photos and the reflections on becoming a mother the second time around. I had the same fears/doubts about being able to love my second as much as my first. Silly mama is right! As soon as I met daughter #2, I fell in love all over again! I read the beautiful sentiment somewhere that more children don’t divide love, they multiply it. So true!

Love your bump pics! I totally remember wondering if I could love number two baby as much as number one – and of course, your heart just grows and expands and there is more than enough love to go around. Then I gained 3 stepkids and I worried and worried. Yes, it is different – but it is special and yes, it’s a kind of love that maybe many can not understand. I didn’t give birth to them, they have a “real mother”, but they are “mine” and I am “theirs”. Love is pretty amazing!

I always hated pregnant pictures of me because I carry side-to-side instead of out, which means I just look obese. Oh I love this. Isn’t it amazing how much fear we have when awaiting a child? I thought when expecting my third it wouldn’t be as bad because I’ve done this before- twice. Instead, I worried about the dynamics and everything that would change. It’s all crazy because it disappears the minute you’re holding the baby in your arms. Lovely pictures too!!

It’s amazing how there’s always enough love for the new one. It just keeps expanding. We dads don’t get to experience the bump, but we admire it, and the miracle going on in front of us.
