Memories Captured – August Link Up!

Congratulations to two linkers, Sarah of little white whale and Christine of Random Reflectionz, you’ve won yourself a Visions of Vinyl decal! Thank you for linking up with Galit and I. Everyone, mark these dates for the next Memories Captured link up – September 10 to 14!

3 month old baby

You are three months old (and a bit).

You are 14 pounds, 8 ounces and nearly 24 inches tall.

You are smiling and giggling.

You are rolling on your side and trying to sit up.

You like to push up with your legs.

By all accounts, it appears that you’re in a hurry to grow up.

I think it’s because you see your big brother running around, doing things that you can watch from the sidelines.

You want to jump in and join in.

You love your big brother.

Your eyes light up, your mouth curls up into a smile when you see him, and when you don’t, you search for him when you hear his voice.

Much as I can’t wait to see you play together, I ask you one thing, my baby boy.

Don’t be in a rush to grow up.

Take it one day at a time.

Because I am.

I’m taking in every cuddle. Every smile. Every kiss. Every milestone you come to.

I’m enjoying everything about your babyhood that I didn’t quite manage to with your brother.

I was too busy worrying about this thing or that thing.

Silly Mama.

Now, I know better. This is the gift your brother gave to us.

He taught me it’s okay to slow down and savor the small moments, that there really is nothing to worry about.

So here I am, celebrating you at 3 months.

I love you Scrumplet, with the whole of my being.

xo, Mama

Now, it’s your turn to capture a memory and link up from August 13 to 17 (linky closes at 9.00 PM Eastern). Galit and I look forward to seeing what you’ve captured!

  1. He is the cutest thing ever. Reminds me of my boys when they were younger – smushy and smily and happy and giggling. It is a true gift that older sibling give us, isn’t it? And how is it that he is 3 months old already?

  2. Such a sweetie! And those are the very same things I hope I’m able to stop and enjoy with baby #2 that I sometimes was too quick to gloss over with #1. Happy 3 months to your adorable little Scrumplet!

And isn’t it wonderful to see the love between your kids?
My daughters first word was not Mommy or daddy, but the name of her big brother.
I’m glad to see you enjoying every moment.

    • Aw, thank you Mirjam. It is wonderful to watch the two of them, especially now that the toddler doesn’t try to hit the baby anymore. He strokes his head and says Hi baby all the time, it’s adorable.

  17. We both posted “month” posts about our babies today! Sigh…how are they getting so big? But I can relate to this because I am enjoying it and being more slow and deliberate about it all this time too.

    Enjoy that chubby handsome man!

I can tell you’re enjoying it, and I love that.

  18. Yes, yes – no hurry!

What a chubby cutie. I wish you lived closer so I could squeeze those little legs. :-) My youngest is now getting so tall and thin – losing all his baby fat.

Your posts give me such goosebumps. Beautiful. I am so glad to hear you are enjoying each moment and that you’ve learned to cherish both of your babies in completely different but incredibly loving ways.

XOXO. I’ve missed you tremendously. Going to catch up now. Hope you are enjoying your summer!

  26. Oh goodness he is cute. And the details about his reaction to his big brother?
    Priceless.

    Karly’s first word was Jack.
She still loves him more than any other friend and he feels the same
(even though they don’t admit it out loud).

Yes. It’s a gift in the best sense.
And you are brilliant to know this already.

  32. Yes. The part about enjoying EVERY single moment of motherhood and the baby stage was the part that stuck out the most to me. I remember with Noah I was so focused on hitting milestones, reaching that next phase and doing things like we were “supposed” to that I think a lot of his new baby moments were overlooked. I’m definitely planning to slow down and enjoy each moment this time.

And lovin’ those thighs! I know we can only say this for a short window of time, so I’m taking advantage of that now!

  42. 3 months?! Where does time go? He is so adorable. I just love those sweet chubby cheeks! G was always watching B from such a young age as well. It is so heart warming to see them play together and enjoy each other. Now, there are times when they don’t enjoy each other so much and that’s well . . . not so fun, but the good totally out weighs the yucky!

Oh PS Baby M was 13 pounds at her 6 month check up . . . it’s amazing how differently babies grow!
Erin recently wrote…I’m Still HereMy Profile

    • Oh yes, I think the good of siblinghood definitely outweighs the not so good :)

My babies grow exponentially in the first 6 months, then they taper off. My eldest is all lean arms and legs now, and he was a chunky one!

  43. What happened? Weren’t you just pregnant? He is a beauty — and a linebacker too.
