10 Things, 1 Hour

posted in: List of 10, Motherhood 102 comments

Stacey of Mothering Moments provided a most interesting listicle inspiration this week – 10 things you do in one hour.

Like most stay-at-home mothers, I don’t have a typical hour. Not when your day is run by a 3 foot tall 2 year old.

So here I present to you a list of things done on a Sunday morning between 8.00 and 9.00 AM (with no time stamps and in no particular order, as I’ve lost brain cells since becoming a mother).

1. Make a cup of decaf tea.

2. Change a diaper.

3. Cheer the toddler on for identifying 6 colors while painting.

4. Clean paint off a toddler’s thigh.

5. Put a load of laundry into the washing machine.

6. Sit down for 2 minutes, look at pregnant belly and will the baby to be born (no luck).

7. Give toddler breakfast.

8. Take photos, like so.

Β Toddler and baby belly

9. Pick up toys.

10. Go to the bathroom – 4 times.

I am only capable of writing really short posts right now as I’m still obsessed over the fact that as of this writing (on a Sunday afternoon), I’m still pregnant. So yeah. Tell me one thing you did on Sunday!

Yuck. Decaf tea. Yuck. Diapers. Yuck. Laundry.

You were really at the nail salon and just didn’t want to tell us, right?

What did I do today – drank 2 pots of very caffeinated coffee! WOOT! (Oh, and maybe some laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, and vacuuming – but I’m totally pretending that those are things I do at the spa)

I know. Decaf, diaper and laundry are 3 abhorrent words.

OH DEAR GOD I want coffee! Real coffee!!

I did go to the nail salon – in my head.

Laundry, dishes, grocery shopping AND vacuuming? The advantages of having sister-wives.

  • I so remember the days of multiple trips to the bathroom per hour. How can so little pee cause so much discomfort? When it is combined with an 8 pound baby, that’s when! I hope you become a mama all over again … tomorrow! πŸ™‚

Oh good greif the trips to the bathroom while pregnant . . . the worst part! I remember thinking maybe I should just stay in there.
