A few months ago, I was pretty new to Twitter. I would lurk and see who said funny things and then strike up a conversation (I know, that sounds stalker-ish). I remember seeing a tweet about seeing rainbows and unicorns, and I laughed.
That was the start of a wonderful friendship with Leighann of Multitasking Mumma, and she hasn’t made me stop laughing. Sometimes, crying.
Her Throat Punch posts are legendary. Her posts about her gorgeous daughter are just beautiful. She stands up for her community. She survived postpartum depression. She also does a mean Snooki impression!
And, here she is.
I started blogging in January 2011 – this year – because I was suffering from Post Partum depression and felt like I needed an outlet. I was home on maternity leave and the feelings of isolation were overwhelming. I am now a survivor and thank blogging for much of my recovery. Suck on that Internet haters!
2. What do you love most about blogging?
The community support and encouragement hands down! It’s very hard to find a crowd in real life who encourages my sarcasm, snaky comments, and throat punches.
3. Who is your favorite blogger ever?
I don’t have one single favourite but I have a lot that I look up to.
Ali from Suitecase Full of Tricks is hilarious and makes me pee a little every time I read her.
Galit from These Little Waves always puts words together perfectly and paints beautiful pictures. I also love her vlogs!
Kimberly from All Work And No Play… Make Mommy Go Something Something has amazing strength and faces struggles with a positive outlook and humor. She makes me strive to be a better mother.
And.. Robin from Farewell, Stranger has accomplished almost half of her life list in 6 months. She’s going places! Watch out for her.
4. Is there a post you regret publishing?
Please define “published” Alison.
I write a lot of complaint letters and letters of suggestion.
If you are referring to my blog, no I don’t regret publishing anything on there.
5. What do you love most about being a Mom?
Tiny arms wrapping around my neck every morning.
Giggles bouncing off of the walls and through the house.
Hearing “Mommy!” and anticipating a toddlers smile everyday after work.
Knowing that there is an unbreakable bond between she and I.
6. What’s your favorite time of the day?
7. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’m so lame……fer reals.
I don’t want to go anywhere. I like to stay in my part of the world, however, I would like to trade in my trip money and spend it on clothing and furniture.
Also? I would like new hardwood floors.
8. What could you eat every single day?
Is that gross?
9. Favorite season and why.
Fall… ahhh, I love it.
I love the big fat hiding sweaters, the jeans, the boots, the mittens and hats, the body covering fabrics.
Not just on me. On everyone! I’m so tired of seeing butt crack by the time fall rolls around!
10. One word to describe you.
11. You’ve recently joined World Moms Blog as a contributor. Are more writing gigs like this in the future for you?
I wouldn’t mind some freelance, paid jobs, but I am not actively looking for any right now. If they find me then YIPPEE.
12. You’re getting married next year, congratulations! Tell us about your wedding plans.
I have waited forever to plan a wedding. I was so excited when it was finally my turn. Now that it is I am not interested. It’s too much work. I have gotten as far as the venue, the photographer, and the cake. Now I need a rest for 6 months. I might have more energy if I had gotten married THEN had a baby. What?
