Wordish Wednesday: Hello? Kitty?

posted in: Humor, Obsessions, Wordless Wednesday 0 comments

Some folks take obsessions a little far. Like this driver, who had Hello Kitty paraphernalia everywhere. I counted 5, I kindly highlighted them for you below.

Close ups!

That is a Hello Kitty-shaped exhaust pipe, people. Wait, what?

This was hanging off the tail of the car. Wait, what?

    A Hello Kitty fanatic!
My little girl loves hello kitty, when her dad visit Japan for a business trip. He definitely goes and checks some Hello Kitty stuff from a Hello Kitty store (my daughter has a thoughtful dad indeed). He bought, a Hello Kitty’s lunch box set, hk mini umbrella, hk chocolates, some stuff hk toys and hk stickers. My little girl really loved it all.

A true Hello Kitty fan will scour the universe for paraphernalia. At least, that is what I have come to believe 🙂

I love that you took this pic! I often want to photograph passing cars and highlight the freakishness.

Like the guy with 287 anti-Obama stickers. Or the redneck with the brass balls hanging from his truck.

That exhaust pipe takes the cake though.

    • July 21, 2011 Alison

Your mom’s best friend is a girl so it’s somewhat acceptable. The driver of this car? Was a bearded dude.

  • July 21, 2011 Kristin

  • July 21, 2011 Missy

I just put a “tri” sticker on my car and it almost killed me. I almost ripped it right off, because I hate putting stuff on my car. Not so much because I don’t want to mess up my car (b/c it’s hard to mess up a kajillion years old car), but more because it seems very personal to have anything about my identity broadcast all over the road.

So, clearly, I find the Hello Kitty car a bit much. But I enjoyed it thoroughly, all the same!

  • July 21, 2011 Kim

Did you check out the steering wheel? They probably had the Hello Kitty cover on it! And the front seats? Probably the Hello Kitty seat covers were there, too 🙂 This Hello Kitty craze with adults and children a like is weird. We have a couple Hello Kitty DVDs and they aren’t anything extraordinary. She’s a cute kitten (with no mouth), but I just don’t get the obsession! My daughters certainly like her though!

My dad travels for work all the time and ends up in China several times a year. He always brings Hello Kitty pajamas back to the states for his grand-daughters, and showed us a picture of a Hello Kitty phone booth that I think was in the airport there. He was telling me Hello Kitty is HUGE in China. I think it’s kind of funny. 🙂
