I love today’s guest star. I honestly do not remember where or how I met her on the blogosphere, I’m just glad I did. She’s one of my favorite bloggers, a great writer and a really good friend. We are so alike, we refer to each other as ‘twins’! People, Kimberly of Mama’s Monologues is in da house!
She’s the epitome of a versatile blogger, her words weaved beautifully to bring tears to your eyes, like this post about her oldest son Matthew.
She can also bring the funny with this hilarious rap vlog.
Take it away, Kim!
1. When and why did you start blogging?
I actually started blogging in August 2010, but I sort of lost steam in the fall. I took a break and came back full force this past January. The whole reason I started blogging was to get things out and connect with other people like me. I saw other blogs and would watch the relationships form and I wanted that. I wanted to relate to other moms and vice versa.
2. What do you love most about blogging?
This one’s easy, the amazing friendships I’ve formed with everyone online. I’ve “met” so many wonderful, supportive, friendly people. You guys are my heart. At this point, I don’t know what I’d do with you all.
3. Who is your favorite blogger ever?
Me! Totally kidding! That’s a hard one. I have to say Jessica from Four Plus an Angel. Her words are so beautiful and eloquent. She writes from the heart and her posts get me. Every. Single. Time.
4. Is there a post you regret publishing?
No. Some posts have brought different feedback, but I don’t regret a single thing I’ve published. My posts have been from me, from my heart. It’s an honest take on my life. It’s who I am, I don’t regret it at all.
5. You have three beautiful children – what do you love most about being a Mom?
The quiet I get during nap time. Ha! I kid! Being a mom is the most rewarding, selfless thing I have ever done. I love that I get to watch them grow into their own little personalities. Seeing them learn how to love and show that fills my heart.
6. What’s your favorite time of the day?
My favorite time of day is bedtime, but not for the obvious reasons of peace and quiet. I like bedtime because that is my little moment with the kids. My oldest is a little too old to be tucked in, but I still have that with my younger two. I’ll lay down with Dylan in his bed and softly kiss him goodnight, telling him I love him. He’ll kiss me sweetly on my check and whisper “Lub eww Mommy” and snuggle in a little closer. He’ll quietly lay with me until he drifts off into sleep. With Kaleb, I have a little more snuggles left. I’ll hold him up to my shoulder where he nestles into my neck. He wraps one hand around my shoulder and softly falls asleep on my chest. You can’t beat that feeling. I love it.
7. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
If I could go anywhere it would be to Aruba. Kurt and I honeymooned there a few years ago and I would love nothing more than to go back and spend another week there, just me and him.
8. What could you eat every single day?
Oooh, fettuccine alfredo. Or chicken caesar salad. Or my homemade brownies. Next question please before I get hungry.
9. Favorite season and why.
Oh I am a summer girl, without a doubt. I love the heat and the bright warm sunshine. I love going to the beach or sitting by the pool. I love tanning and bike riding and swimming and all of the other things summer has to offer. Just not the humidity. Yuck.
10. One word to describe you.
11. You have a regular series on your blog, much like this Guest Star series called Featured Friend. Tell us more about it.
The basis behind my Featured Friend series is to spotlight one of my readers every week. Each Friday I choose one of my lucky friends to write a guest post for me. It was kind of my way to highlight and thank them for reading and engaging with me. (I’m always looking for more guest posts, hint hint.)
12. You are quite the Twitter queen. For most new bloggers, Twitter is puzzling and intimidating. Do you have any tips to get them started into this fantastic world of social media and networking?
Don’t be shy or afraid to jump in. Twitter makes stalking and eavesdropping completely acceptable. Just follow your stream and if you see something you like, jump in! Honestly, everybody on there is friendly and welcoming. Just start talking and you’ll see a world of friends open up! But be careful, if you tweet too much twitter will lock you up in #twitterjail. And that’s no fun. Unless you create an alter ego like me. #YesImAddicted #NullNuts
