Guest Star: Galit from These Little Waves

posted in: Guest Stars 0 comments
Today, I’m truly honored to have a wonderful blogger, talented writer and all-round awesome human being, Galit Breen from These Little Waves in my Guest Star series.
When I first started blogging 2 months ago, Galit was one of the first few who left thoughtful comments on my posts. She was always generous with her compliments and constructive observations (and still is). Seeing her retweet my posts was always a highlight for me.
Aside from being a genuinely generous and kind blogger, Galit is a truly wonderful writer. Her words sweep over me like a cool breeze on a warm day (I actually used this description in a comment on one this post) ; her heartfelt writing oftentimes bring tears to my eyes; her fiction gives me goosebumps, like this recent Red Dress Club piece; and her infectious laugh in her latest vlog just makes me want to go over and hug her!
If you haven’t had the privilege of reading Galit’s writing, head over to These Little Waves now, follow her on Twitter and like her on Facebook! And now, on to Galit’s ‘grilling’!

1. Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging as a platform for my book writing. Also? I love when things look pretty- Colors! Layout! Fonts! Oh my!

2. What do you love most about blogging?
I adore the amazing friendships I’ve made. When I connect with someone else it warms my heart. Instantly. {I’m sappy. Really sappy. Did you know that?}

3. Who is your favorite blogger ever?
I read, and am over-the-moon about, a lot of bloggers. A LOT of bloggers. But Stacey from Is There Any Mommy Out There? is breathtaking. She’s as thoughtful as she is hilarious. She’s one of many that I want to sit and talk to for hours on end. With chai lattes. Or wine. Or both.

4. Is there a post you regret publishing?
Honestly? No. There are a few that aren’t my best work, but they’re all a part of my story.

5. You have three beautiful children – what do you love most about being a Mom?
The love. Who knew that it could be so BIG?

6. If you could go back in time, what is the one thing you would undo?
Again, honestly? Nothing. Don’t get me wrong, I made a lot of D-U-M-B mistakes in my time, but they were all stepping stones and I’ll keep ’em.

7. What’s your favorite time of the day?
There’s the snuggles and the giggles and the books. But without a doubt, nap-time is my absolute favorite time of day. Is that considered a Mom-FAIL? But the quiet. Ohmygod the QUIET

8. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Italy. The food, the history, the romance, the accents, they all call to me. At our engagement party Jason and I were asked this question separately to see if our answers were the same. His answer: To go to Israel to meet Galit’s grandparents. My answer: Italy. He knew what he was getting into.

9. What could you eat every single day?
Chips and salsa. Don’t worry, I don’t. But I so could.

10. Favorite season and why.
Spring. Minnesota Winters are long. And harsh. And my transplanted-from-California skin is thin. And whiny. When things finally thaw here, Spring is warm, bright, the neighborhood steps outside, the kids play hard, everything greens up. It’s perfection.

11. One word to describe you.

12. You’re such an accomplished writer – any tips for us newbie writers?
Stay true to yourself. Your style, your goals, your words, your community. Be kind and generous. Step outside of your comfort zone. That one’s hard for me sometimes, but the learning is so very worth it when I do.

Isn’t she just awesome? Thank you Galit, for taking the time to do this. Love ya! xoxo
